Season of Crochet and Cork

This season we are seeing a lot of crochet and cork on shoes.  I love it, but I noticed some people are not digging the cork.  I did find this shoe from Lucky Brand that features crochet that I thought was very nice.

Lucky Brand Rilo Crochet Wedge

This is the Lucky Brand Rilo Crochet Wedge.  The crochet macrame fabric upper is the perfect Spring/Summer shoe.  It comes in beautiful colors, Mint, Natural, Tulip Pink, and Black.  It is a high shoe, with an almost 5 inch heel.  But it feels like almost 4 inches because of the platform.  I tried them on at Dillard's in the Cottonwood Mall and found them quite comfortable.  I always feel so short, but these really made me walk with my head held high.  I tried them on with a cute skirt and the outfit worked.  They retail for $89.  I would definitely add this to my shoe collection.  The only problem I can see is the open toe.  As we all know, sometimes with an open toe your foot slides to the front and can hurt after awhile.  But the cuteness of this shoe out weighs the pain in my opinion.

Jaclyn Striped Gore by Rocket Dog

Rocket Dog debuts the Jaclyn.  This slip on wedge sandal with Criss Cross Gore Upper is perfect for the warm spring days ahead.  It has a 2 inch platform with a 4 inch heel.  They are available in striped and black.  I can picture wearing these wedges with a pair of shorts.

These scalloped shorts would work perfect with the Jaclyn in black.  I did try these on and walked around for a while.  They are very comfy and made my leg look long, which is always a plus.  They retail at Shoes On A Shoestring for $44.99 which also makes them affordable, another plus.

Date Night!!

There is nothing like a great wedge combined with a great print.  CL by Chinese Laundry are perfect when you are tyring to make your feet pop.

These are called Date Night and for good reason.  The heel actually works at making your leg look longer and is super stylish.  It will definitely get you noticed when you are out with your man.  The shoe features an open toe and straw on the wedge which makes it perfect for the summer.

The whole shoe is higher off the ground, the platform sits 1 and a half inches while the wedge is 3 and a half inches.  They come in a variety of colors like Metallic Linen, Multi-Stripe, and Metallic Giraffe.  I would wear these for a night on the town, or to dress up a black skirt for work during the warmer days.  They retail for $43.00.  I tried them on and they are very easy to wear.  Would it be wrong of me to buy two pairs in different colors??!!

One of My Favorites!!!

Make A Splash

I believe Spring in my favorite time for new shoes.  You can put the tights and hose away, get a pedi, and show off your toes.  While browsing the aisles of Shoes On a Shoestring this shoe caught my eye.


Madrid by Born


The Madrid is from Born.  Handcrafted footwear that is ultra comfy.  This wedge has an open toe and a cute tie detail in front that is so springy.  It features a heel sling strap and leather lining, and of course a cushioned insole. 

The 2 inch woven platform midsole makes way for the 4 1/4 inch woven wedge heel.....adding to the already easy to walk in shoe.  I can picture wearing these to a pool party as well as Church on Sunday.  The tie feature in front gives the shoe a sassy element while remaining classy.  The price point is a little high, reatailing for $99.  But considering how comfortable they are and how much use you will get out of them, it is worth it.
